So… I’ve been seeing these around a lot. I always wonder why people would post their income report and …I still wonder. There may be many reasons, but I want to start posting mine because I want to reflect on my growth (or lack of) each month – and hopefully this exercise will push me to stay on top of my bookkeeping!! So here goes…
MAY INCOME
Etsy Income: $78.17
Shopify Store: $106.38
Collaboration revenue: $662.05
Total Income: $846.60
MAY EXPENSES
Shopify hosting*: $148.96
Paypal fees: $6.68
Affiliate commission: $4.54
Advertising and promotion: $55.48
Total Expenses: $215.66 (Anything with an * next to it is an affiliate link)
Net Profit: $630.97
As you can see, I’m pretty small peanuts compared to other people out there. I might also note that this has been one of the “good” months because some payments only came through now from last month. So this is also a good lesson that what you see on someone’s inflated monthly income can be a big deceiving sometimes.
I added some Shopify apps this month and will be going on vacation next month, so we’ll see how June turns out! With a busy schedule and a side hustle like this, it’s hard to stay focused sometimes and do the things that bring in the best ROI. But I think at it’s still a win when your net profit is not in the negative right??
Stay tuned for next month!
