July Shop Update
July was a month of reflection. I am slowly switching gears and trying to find balance in my personal life. I’ve been neglecting my health and just social circles the few months since I’ve been really focusing on my side-hustle business. Towards the end of this month, I’ve decided to put my shop in the back burner a bit and focus on my personal goals. Because of this, I expect next month to have a bit of dip in sales + profit.
What’s new this month
- Preparing my launched my “Library” Subscription
- Trying to scale back on my online shop
My subscription service
As mentioned in my last month’s recap, I wanted my income to be more predictable – hence the set up of a subscription service. I got this digital library idea from Elle & Company – a blog that I’ve been following on and off for a while now. She has grown her business so much, and I really admire her business savviness!

Taking a step back
It’s been a little hard for me to do since I love growing my business. But recently, I’ve decided to take a new direction. I needed to find some order in my life and my career (yes, I have a full time job outside of my shop! ), and my shop has been giving me added stress – stress that I didn’t need when I have to deal with personal issues. I’ve been juggling too many things and it’s getting out of hand. I’ve decided to channel my energy into blogging here for a while. Not obsessing about my shop is probably the hardest thing for me to do!
Excited to see how this new approach (might not be the best- but we’ll see) will help me with my personal growth and my side-hustle.
Apps that I currently use in my Shopify store:
- Refersion – I use this app to keep track of affiliate sales. It also offers great analytics!
- Locksmith – This little simple app makes all the difference! I use it to set password protected pages on my site
